Energy comes to life with color through the work of artists Elizabeth Gahan and Liz Tran in Aura at Seattle Art Museum this October.

Exploring the relationship of built structures sharing space with nature, artist Elizabeth Gahan forges visual connections with ephemeral transparencies, fine architectural line work and fluid painting. Organic freedom combines with technical precision, enlivening the energy of our everyday surroundings.

Channeling subjects such as dream imagery, imagined landscapes, geodes, and outer space, Liz Tran explores the shapes of nature, with an infusion of fantastical, pulsing synthetic hues. Tran’s psychedelic visuals come from the intersection of inner-space and outer-space, where optical misfires push and pull at the speed of light.

Aura will be on display Oct. 1-Nov. 2.
