Science & a Movie at PacSci

Kick off National Engineers Week by discovering the innovative designs powering space exploration. Join us for an engaging presentation by robotics engineer, Paulo Younse, from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
Paulo will share his firsthand experience supporting the groundbreaking missions that are answering key questions about our neighboring planet, Mars, and highlight the crucial role of robotics in space exploration. After the presentation, enjoy a screening of the stunning IMAX documentary Hubble, which combines breathtaking visuals with nearly two decades of images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope. Watch as the astronauts perform difficult tasks to repair the Hubble Space Telescope, and see how advanced computer visualization transforms Hubble’s data into an immersive journey through space, offering a truly awe-inspiring look at one of the most iconic engineering feats that continues to deepen our understanding of the cosmos. The program will also include a Q&A session with the guest speaker.
