Description

Town Hall Seattle and UW Engage Science present the 2024 UW Engage Science Lectures. Hear from UW students about their research on various scientific topics. Each week, different students will present their findings on everything from designer DNA to fluorescent fruit flies.

May 6: Emma Lederer – thymic function; Gabby Gauthier – extreme weather events, Valeria Garcia – sampling snowflakes to predict winter storms

May 13: Sara Khor – how to make better medical decisions, Ethan Mickelson – a potent blood substitute for emergencies, Treasure Warren – seawater chemistry

May 20: Larissa Robinson-Cooper – the genetic variants that can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, Cecily Rosenbaum – how to make solar panels more effective, Taylor Walton – flammable ice on the seafloor
